The area that was replanted last year with specially selected Budgratts Is re~ ported to be making very satisfac tory progress and the gardens generally are reported to be free from "Jailang and other noxious growths and are under a thick cover of nitrogenous legumes which have very beneficial effect by increas-Ing the fertility of the soil, All buildings and machinery were given the necessary upkeep and are good state of repair.
The rubber factory was completely modernized during the year. Three new bulking tanks with a platform fand a permanent sieving installation for receiving the latex were built. The four Crepe Mangles were completely overhauled and re-erected and are now reported to be working satisfactorily, and the transmission gear was allered in such a manner that the Machinery can now be run by either the water wheel in normal times or by the Engine in times of drought.
'Pests and diseases gave no trouble during the year and such cases ax were discovered were' promptly dealt with, Sulphur dusting was carried out, asa preventative against Oidium Mildew, but the attack of this dis-tense was again much milder than in Previous years.
The supply of labour was sufficient for all requirements and the health of the force, 1 am glad to say, was satisfactory.
