With the arrival of the Corps Colour on parade, the Corps accorded it a general salute, Following the inspection by Colonel Hornby, Commandant of the S.V.C., the Corps swung out of the Race Course, the time a few minutes after 3 p.m. At the head of ithe infantry on parade, immediately after a foreign and a Sikh trooper of the Shanghai Municipal Police, the band of the First Battalion Durham Light Infantry broke into a march, and the parade down Bubbling Well Road started.
Bubbling Well Road, incidentally, presented an amazing picture of the enthusiasm of Shanghai for its volunteer army which has proved itself in the past and did so im traditional manner during its lengthy mobilization only a few months ago.
