Cathedral Girls Holiday Begins

Ceremony Sees Break-up Of Spring Term

The Cathedral Girls. School broke up for the Easter Holidays yesterday morning. Parents and friends began to collect in the Hall quite early, and there was quite a crowded audience when the girls assembled and Miss Fleet, the head mistress, and the Dean mounted the platform.

After the usual school prayers, Miss Fleet announced that three girls had entered and passed their Senior Cambridge examination; they are Jean Wallis, Eileen Faulkener, and Dorita Breakspeare. Miss Fleet then read the marks of each form, and Dean Trivett presented trophies to the forms having the highest average marks in the Senior and Junior Schools, Form 1Va won the Senior trophy which the Dean presented to Marjorie Train, and Form id had the highest average in the Junior School, Valerie Matthews having the honour to receive a beautiful little statuette on their behalf. Betty Gray received the House Shield as Captain of Faraday, which house gained the most points during the Term.
