Labour Will Respond

St. Nazaire, Nov. 16.

"We are ready to respond to the country's appeal but we do not wish the Government to coerce the working"clesses and at the same time be lenient to capitalism," M. Leon Jouhaux, Secretary-General of the General Confederation of Labour, stated here today.

Speaking at a banquet offered by the local municipality, he said, "France is capable of any recovery provided that capitalism fulfills its mission.

The working desses are ready to participate in the country's economic organization and to work as much overtime as necessary—but labour must be consulted im this country," he concluded.—Haves,
