Annual Meeting Brighter Outlook Broken By Local Hostilities

The annual meeting of the Anglo-French Land Investment Ca. Ltd., was held at 20 Canton Road yesterday. Mr. W. Mellor presided, supported by Messrs H. Martin Little, Liu Chang Yin, E. Sigaut and K. G. Stephenson, directors. Holders of 11,181 shar were represented at the meeting.

The chairman in his speech said:—Prior to the outbreak of hostilities the business of the company was slowly recovering from the effects of the depression of the past two or three rs, Rental arrears were gradually being reduced and it appeared as though income from this source would show an increase over the past year, also income from mortgages and loan:

This brighter outlook, however, was completely shattered by the outer of hostilities on August 14 last and the consequent complete evacuation of the Eastern and Northern Districts from which we collected 30 per: cent of our rental income.
