The properties completely destroyed by the fires during August consisted of 83 hongs on Estate "S" and 43 hongs on Estate "W". The for houses on Estates "N" and "O" were only slightly damaged; since the close of the year this property has been ut into a habitable condition and we have a few tenants in occupation. On Estate 34 hongs have been destroyed out of 86 and Estate "M"
23 out of 128. At a later date claims l be forwarded through the British Consulate for the amount of damage done.
The above concludes my remarks regarding the accounts and it is the opinion of your directors that under the circumstances it is fortunate th the assets of the company have not been more seriously damaged: further, that all material losses can be taken care of out of reser at aside in previous years with a clean sheet, Whilst it appears that it must be some considerable time before auditions become normal, the present Yeserves will see us through a bad year or two if such turns out to be the case, and I am optimistic enough to consider that restricted dividends will be possible.
