The bombing of the railway car the other day, the first day of through trafic (regrettable because the suf-forers had nothing whatever to do with the political side of the question) caused a little inconvenience to passengers to the beach, several. knowing that the night train on which they were due to return to Tientsin would be the first train. from Mukden, left by an earlier train, and lost' several evening hours atthe beach. There has been no repetition of bombing, however, and the trains now are well guarded and the passengers searched before entraining.
Mr. Yin Tung, director of the Liao-ning Railway, seems to be a man of courage. There are very few of the present Chinese officials who would have undertaken and arranged the through traffic, against the opinion of the parties in China opposed to such step. He is to be congratulated on lost by the line outside the wall being cut off.
