Czech Independence

Political circles here, commenting on Herr Henlein's trip to London, stressed the fact that the Sudeten leader conferred principally with personalities who are convinced of the necessity of maintaining Czechoslovakia's independence, and_that hho held a lengthy falke with' the Czech Minister in London, M, Jan Mazaryk.

They further emphasized that during Herr Henlein's absence, the Sudeten press adopted an extremely, moderate tone, leaving hopes for a. slight relaxation in the tension. between the Sudetens and the Government, resulting on the one hand from the British demarche to Berlin, and/on the other from the British and French intervention in Prague.
