[Abbott have been the recipients of funny good wishes since the announcement of their engagement a week ago. Miss Tuck is on the staff of of the Thomas Hanbury School for Girls, and Mr. Abbott is a valued member of the P.W.D. Both are very well known here and havea host of friends. The date of the wedding has not yet been fixed. Neither party has relatives in this part of the world, for Miss Tuck's parents live near JOxford, and Mr. Abbott's are in Belfast.
Jable that some of us among the less Tearned. foreign women will, before we prepare to read the reports of our friends' meeting, do a little dic~ tionary dredging and try to get into Jour heads the meaning of some of the technical terms and of the high Jsounding subjects which it is pro= posed that they discuss.
