Although the School and Institute have been open only since October. every class Is filled to capacity. Seven hundred or more students applied for entrance, 400 took the entrance exmination, and 54 were admitted to the Institute and 58 to the Day School. Within three years, the entire school and Institute will be filled to capacity with students in every class, beginners to seniors, with the probability of post-graduate study open to those desiring it. Mr. Lillie estimates that there will be a {otal enrollment of 1.600 at the end of six years. Certainly, if there is any appreciation of educational opportnity that prediction may be fulélled before the close of the six-year period specified by the director, for only the nest schools abroad are able to afford the facilities of the Lester School and Institute.
In order to facilitate examinations for. those in ollier parts of Chins has been decided to hold examinations simultaneously in Nanking and Shanghai next July 1, 2, and 3, though only approximately 110. students may be admitted, owing to the Fertriction on the classrooms available at the most splendidly equipped School that it has been the privilege of the "North China Dally News" Fepresentative to. inspect.
