34 Alleged Terrorists Members of Republican Army Said Planning Attacks

Belfast Police Arrest

Belfast, Dec. 23.

One of the biggest police raids ever made in Northern Ireland was carried out yesterday, and resulted in the arrest of 34 prominent members of the Irish Republican Army.

The action is officially ascribed to plans for attacks upon persons occupying prominent positions, upon Government, and other buildings during the Christmas and New Year period. It is understood that the men arrested came from all parts of Northern Ireland. The police are continuing their round-up today.—Reuter.
