Kiukiang, Dec. 27.
After a long period'of comparative tranquillity around the base of Lushan Mountain, Japanese troops at dawn this morning renewed vigorous mopping-up operations against guerilias in the western foothills south of Kiukiang.
Guerillas in the area have been on the move in the past few days because of the cold weather and their lack of food supplies, which have forced them to abandon their positions and seek more favourable places for defence.—Domei.
