Jerusalem, Dec. 27.
Yassin Jerallal, member of the Arab Defence Party, in opposition to the Mufti, and a cousin of the President of the Supreme Moslem Council, shot dead yesterday morning at his home in Jericho, where he was a prominent resident.
A Jewish shopkeeper was shot and wounded while serving customers in the old city of Jerusalem yesterday.
A Jewish carpenter, Jacob Sillier, was fatally shot by an unknown Arab gunman yesterday, Mr. Edward Keith-Roach, District Commissioner of Palestine, was the first to reach the scene of the outrage, his car arriving on the spot two minutes after the attack. The gunman had already disappeared, however, and Mr. Keith-Roach took the wounded man to hospital, where he died later.
Arabs were also believed to have kidnapped the British bank manager, Mr. Louis Lebouvier, yesterday afternoon, as an armoured car patrol of the Royal Air Force found his car abandoned on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho.—Reuter Commutation of Death Sentence The death sentence passed sometime jaga-by the First Special District Court on Vu Hai-sen who was charged with murdering his aunt his creditor, was commuted yesterday into a life imprisonment term by the Second Kiangsu High Court with which Vu recently filed an appeal. Vu was arrested by the Louza Police in August of this year after he had lured his aunt to a hotel in Vu Ya Ching Road and strangled her to death. The body was discovered many hours later but eventually the police arrested Vu who, it was found out by the court, committed the murder because he was unable to pay several thousand dollars which he owed to his aunt.
