After Premier Returns

Changes Likely to Revolve Around National Defence Compulsory National Service Possible London, Jan. 7.

A British Cabinet reshuffle will take place during February, politicians here reaffirmed today. The scope and exact nature of the impending ministerial changes were only vaguely defined and it was declared they would depend upon the results of Mr. Chamberlain's Rome parleys.

Should Mz, Chamberlain succeed in leading Signor Benito Mussolini to make an effective contribution to his policy of appeasement in exchange for economic advantages, no "aggressive" personalities such as Mr. Anthony Eden. former Foreign Secretary, will be brought into the new Cabinet.

But should the Rome parleys end in failure, politicians declared that Mr. Eden's return to the Government would be most probable. The Premier would then have no choice but to go back upon his present policy land adopt an intransigent attitude towards Italy and Germany.

At all events it was said, the Cabinet reshuffle will certainly bear upon the National Defence portfolios and Sir Thomas Inskip, Minister for the Coordination of Defence, isl stated most probable to leave.
