In the service which precedes the concert, Chaplain Frank R. Hamilton of the Fourth Marines, will conduct the service and deliver the sermon on the interesting subject "In The Beginning, God." The Fourth Marines' Band opens the service playing the prelude "Lament" by White, and for the offertory the "Flower Song" by Bennet. An added feature in the service is an instrumental quartet a "Sacred Melody" rendered by Corporal Schwartz, Private First Class Varconie, Privates Brown and Torbett, of the Fourth Marines' Band. My Willis Hathaway, of the Navy Y.M.C.A. Staff, leads the singing of the hymns with the Fourth Marines' Band accompanying.
Each Sunday morning the theatre is crowded to its capacity with many people being turned away unable to secure seats, and the public is advised to come early to insure seating. A cordial welcome is extended the citizens of Shanghai of all nationalities to both the church service and concert.
