The secret session of the National Defence Commission of the Senate held here today is understood to have discussed, among other things, the defence of the North African coast.

M. Cesar Campinchi, the Navy Minister, declared that the execution of the Naval programme was progressing rapidly and satisfactorily and that the situation was much improved since last year.

Other matters discussed were antisubmarine measures and the carrying of aircraft on warships, The Senators, it is understood, expressed the greatest satisfaction with the M. Campinchi's statement.—Reuter.
