London, June 23, The "News Chronicle" Rome correspondent reported yesterday morning that the Italian Government. is now considering a plan providing for the immediate withdrawal of. 10,000 Italian volunteers from Spain, Signor Mussolini, the correspondent. stated, is favourably disposed towards the plan since he wishes to demonstrate by some gesture that Ttaly adheres to the conditions and' clauses of the Anglo-Italian agreement. I Duce is, moreover, said to hold the view that further delay in putting the agreement into operation may lead' to "unpleasant and surprising developments in Europe."
The correspondent, says Signor Mussolini received reports from Spain that the Italian volunteers are no longer re&uired to bring about a complete victory as the Nationalist troops are now sufficiently trained and can fill the places vacated by the Italians, The force of 10000 men to be withdrawn at once would be come posed of infantry units exclusively, the correspondent reported, Italian artillery, air force and tanks will be withdrawn later in accordance with the British plan for the withdrawal of volunteers which was accepted by the Non-Intervention.
