The Hongkew Golf Club held a most, successful closing day function on their bowling green on Sunday, Oct. 20, with all day games for ladies and members, with tiffin and tea in the jelub house, Taking advantage of the magnificent weather, one of the biggest crowds ever seen at this popular lub, ladies predominating, turned out and' thoroughly enjoyed. themselves.
"At the conclusion of the games the president, A. E. Collins, thanked all resent for making the day such a huge success, especially the ladies. whose presence added much to the success of the day. The club was justly proud of their bowling champion €, F.. Remedios, who was also open champion of Shanghat.
Sequira' who was twice champion and. once runner-up in the open championship unfort-nately met defeat in the opening game this year and the club felt this defeat very much. In the league they had not done so badly by winning six matches and losing six. Their thanks was due to the hard working committee, especially their secretary, C. M, Sequeira, and to the Park Keeper, Me. Repas, who had done so much for them during the season.
