Yachtsmen Enjoy Good Sailing

Eileen Sailed to Double Victory by John Berents; Bridget Second

Yachtsmen on Sunday were provided with excellent sailing conditions in contrast to the dismal winds which Completely failed the cruising class on Saturday, with the result that they did not even get up to the starting line. and cancelled their long Race over a course stretching out to Grass Island and back. Sunday's fne wind gave "C" class the best racing they have had this season and even though there was a lack of beatin' ihe good wind made the racing worth while, John Berents sailed Eileen to a double victory, taking both the morning and afternoon races, and thereby winning the "Second Minghong Series" by earning a total of 29% points against the 25 Bridget gained and the 24 which Lady Anne got. The good weather attracted a good turn-Out of eleven boats in the morning's race and ten of these went over the marks in the afternoon's contest.

In the morning's race, Eileen led all the way to win from Bridget (C. E. Howard-Vyse), with Sun Lee (K. F. Piper) third, while the course was set on a downriver reach and run back, The afternoon's contest was set with an upriver course to return to the flagship and here again Eileen ran away from the others coming in ahead of Lady Anne (It. P. H. M. May) while Bridget was third.
