Programme in Interest of Children Approved Following its efforts at promotion of child welfare work throughout the country during the past six years, the National Child Welfare Association fof China, under the leadership of its president, Dr, H. H. Kung, the Minister of Finance, has created a nationwide interest in realizing that child Welfare work {s an essential factor for the up-building and recovery of China, according to a statement made by Mr, Jabin Hsu, General Secretary of the National Child Welfare Association of China, One of the most remarkable events in the child welfare movement in its history of China is the observation of the tional Children's Year, which, upon the recommendation of the Assoclation, was recently designated by the National Government, dating from August 1, 1985, to July 31, 1936 Plans for the general programme of enforcement for the observance of the National Children's Year, formulated by both the Ministries of Education and Interior, was officially approved by a meeting of Executive Yuan held last month, Mr. Hsu said. The programme will be enforced by the Central Executive Commission and local Executive Commissions through each province, municipality, and city throughout the country.
