Drastic Sequel Follows Flight of Gen. Lushkov Warsaw, July 4.
The "Gazetta Polska" reports from Moscow that several arrests have been made at Habarovsk in the Far East province of the Soviet Union in connection with the flight of Gen. G. S. Lushkov, who, as announced by the Japanese War Office, crossed the Manchurian frontier on June. 13 and sought the protection of the Japanese authorities.
Three special delegates of the Gepu chief, Comrade Yeshov, arrived at Khabarovsk to enquire into Gen. Lushkov's sensational flight, the Polish paper states. Officials, Army officers and party functionaries, arrested in connection with the affair, will be sent to Moscow for trial.
Polish papers also note that the name of Marshal Budjenny does not appear among the names of the 66 officers elected to the Supreme Council of the Soviet Union. The papers regard this omission as confirmation of rumours prevalent in Moscow that Marshal Budjenny's fall is imminent.—Trans-Ocean.
