Warsaw, Mar. 19.
Political quarters and public opinion here have been deeply impressed by the reaction in France, Great Britain, and the United States, to the German coup in Czechoslovakia. Official circles, however, maintain a completely reserved attitude but the general impression is that these quarters were very disagreeably influenced by events in Slovakia which led to her coming under Germany's protection, and by the stiff resistance which Hungarian troops met in the Ukraine, Public opinion does not hide indignation over the brutal attitude adopted by Germany.
The well-known political comment tator, M. Stanislas Stronski, in the Crypt of Egyptian King Discovered Cairo, Mar. 20.
The crypt of Pharaohpsu Sennes, who is supposed to have been the father-in-law of King Solomon, has been discovered by French archæologists engaged in excavation in the southern Egyptian province of Charkieh. Pharaohpsu Sennes was a member of the 21st dynasty.
The crypt, which dates from the year 1,000 B.C., is absolutely intact. It contains a gold coffin weighing 2,200 pounds and is valued at about £1,000,000. There is also a mummy and two skeletons as well as ornaments and statuettes. When the news of the discovery reached Cairo this morning, the Egyptian Minister of Education immediately left for Charkieh.—Trans-Ocean.
