Sin—I would like to thank Miss Taylor for all her kind advice to Shanghai schoolgirls but if she is referring to the deliberations of the Joint Committee of Women's Organ-lations which took place last week, T am afraid she has missed the main point.
The chief trouble is not that the girls are obliged to take office work Dut that there are not enough jobs and the women of" Shanghai are trying to make other openings, for those girls who are finding it so hard fo yet work. The shortage of Jobs and the absence of any opportunity for girls to qualify, for anything but office work is the obstacle we are up against.
