The standard smout for 1938 has been fixed at practically the same figure as 1937 but with. the present low exportable quota and low selling price it is hardly likely this company will more than cover expenses fine: there is a considerable improvement n selling prices before the end of the financial year in 1939.
The condition of the estate " is generally very good; yields per acre and per tapper on conservative tapping principles are most satisfactory. and it would be possible to produce without difficulty and without undue depletion of bark reserves a larger assessment than has been obtained, but this in spite of our appeals has not been granted.
