Another Protest

To the Ealtor of the "Nownu-Cuwa Darcy News"

On August 23 1 paid my account up to the end of August. "This morn ing the September account arrives with an important notice enclosed as The enforcement of this, means that] the Telephone Company, comes into possession of a very large sum of money before any service has been rendered, and money to-day, is worth 6 per cent. at least, in certain local debentures. In following months subscribers will receive the various extra under DT's—AM's—IT's DA's ete. ete, It seems to me, that the time has arrived, when this concern might, with feason, understand that the Yecal_ community has other financial obligations, as well as telephone fees, and if doctors, dentists, landlords, Fate collectors ete, etc. attempted to apply the same zest with regard to accounts, Shanghai would probably 0 broke in three months. the Telephone Company insists fon payment in advance, surely the Company should put down an organization to send out collectors to Bet the money in. the case of subscribers over-ooking to remit in advance, all the Company has to do is to disconnect the line and collect their ridiculous fee for reconnection. Quite a luera~ tive procedure of obtaining additional income.
