Starting off at 845 am, Mond we very soon met with our third as we attempted to eross the Eh tang River only four miles from Hangchow where we were informed that the bridge onto the ferry on the other side of the river was broken. This] was rather surprising news as we had enquired that morning as to. the feasibility of our going to Wenchow. by this route from the China Travel Service and the Chekiang Highways; Bureau.
We returned to Hangchow and left the Wulingmen Bus Station at 10 am with the speedometer at 5255 miles and with the destination' of Tienmoshan in view. Thirty miles from the bus station slong this main road leading" to Hwelchow, via Changwha, an old bridge is reached
