An important case of robbery in the guise of patriotism has been referred by the Louza police to the First Special District Court where 10 Chinese youths one of them a girl, are standing trial on no less than seven counts in which Chinese shops alleged to be dealing in Japanese goods have been robbed of their goods, mostly cloth and cash, by the group self-styled as the "Iron and Blood Youth Traitor Extermination Corps." They have been charged with robbery and extradited to the French police within whose jurisdiction they might have also committed other" similar crimes, It was revealed in court that the youths formerly studied in a school in Chapei but since they acquainted themselves with bad characters they later became criminals and were previously punished. Their latest trick was to organize a patriotic body and send out representatives bearing badges of their organization and also carrying receipts to various Chinese shops to "investigate" the "enemy" goods they were alleged to be selling, Once they found the goods of suspicious origin they took them and in some cases also cash leaving receipts behind.
As their headquarters could not be located by the shops thus victimized and as managers of the shops themselves did not like to investigate because in some cases they were actually found dealing in Japanese goods, which is a social and commercial taboo in Chinese Circles these days, the young "patriots" succeeded in practically all cases in disposing of the goods they obtained in a criminal manner to their own advantage. The youths later became more audacious as no one interfered with them but alert detectives attached to the Louza Police Station soon learnt their trick and rounded them up in a raid conducted in the Da Woo Hotel, Avenue Edward VII, where they also found a pistol indicating that the detained youths belong to an armed gang. Receipts which they are alleged to have issued to victimized shops were also found there.
