"The head office of the Provincial Electric Supply Enterprice isin Wuchow. It is empowered to direct and. control all other power tations in the province so that while Nanning has the largest electric power station owned by private commer-lal enterprise, the engineer is apment. pointed by the Provincial Govern-

The power station in" Wuchow can generate 1,000 kw, with crude all engines being used, "There are smaller power plants which supply Liuchow, Lungchow, Kwelshun and other towns where old machines of smaller capacity displaced from Wuchow are used. All the engineers are appointed by the government bhut undoubtedly it would be more economical to have engineers, ma chinery, and electrical—materials Prepared and distributed within the province as a whole by a central Office, Ba-Bou near the Fu-Ho-Pung mining district have a new station erected and this will also be under the direction of the Electric Power Supply Head Office.

Water Supply In the larger towns like Kwelling. there Is a city engineering depart: ment directly under the control of the Provincial Government. Wuchow used to have an Engineering Department and the roads and parke Dullt by the Department are pleasant and clean but the most import fant work achieved is the water supply, which like the electricity generating station, its central office has the power to control other water works in the province.

The source of the water supply in Wuchow comes from Kwelklang (also called Fu-Ho) and the works situated on Po-shan, 90 ft. (above the round 50 that no tower is needed and only about $800.000 '(Kwangsi money) had to be spent fon this project. The coagulating basin of baffle type has a capacity of 2,180 cubic meters. The Altra tion basin has atx beds with total murtace of 216 eq. metres, Wath water for the titration beds is sup piled from an elevated storage tank Hin, above the ize bain with a eapeelty' of 222 cum. There are alens water' reservoirs, each with a volume of 1,00 cubic metres, Six. tons of water' per minute or 8640 fons per day can be aupplled fom the Intake pump of 1890 lip. but at present there are only 1,200 families using this water and the Consumption sani. about 1.200 rmetrie tons per day, which ig about Gne_seventh of the full load' intake capacity.
