Sin—On May 20th, there appeared in your paper a news item despatched from Tientsin [Central News Agency] concerning the reorganization of the North China Water Conservancy Board under the auspices of the Economic Affairs Committee of the Hopei-Charhar Political Council, this news is rather misleading und does nol correspond with the fac!
The North China River Commission has been placed under the administra ion of the National Economic Council since the beginning of 1035 when, ju that year, the N. B, C. was made the central organ to supervise and ce-ordinate the activities of all water conservancy bodies in the country, Tu the Commission there were some oxofficin members who were, for me stance, Commissioners of Reconstruetion of the northern provinces, view of the fact that some of the ex-officio Commissioners have been replaced by new appointees, the has to appoint them as new: ex-oilicio members to the Commission, It is by no means a reorganization, Furthermore, these appoint were made by the N, B.C. by the Hope!
