Nanking, July 3.
Restrictions on the taking of photographs by travellers in Chinese territory, whether journeying by land, air or water, are to be tightened up, as the result of the issue by the Ministry of the Interior of a new set of regulations.
At the present time passengers in commercial aeroplanes are prohibited from taking pictures of the territory over which they fly, while in fortified zones and other designated military areas visitors are forbidden even to carry a camera. It is expected that these taboos will be extended considerably when the new regulations go into effect, and that local military and police officials will be authorised to ban the use of cameras at their diseretion—Reuter.
