China's Mountain Scenery

Confined to Shanghai for the majority of the year, residents are apt to forget the magnificent scenery which China has to offer. At holiday time, many foreigners and Chinese make for Kuling. But those who have ventured to other parts of China have been struck with the majesty of her mountain scenery, examples of which are pictured below.

Taishan Mountain, in Shantung Province, rises majestically from the Yellow River Valley. and remains for the most part veiled by slowly moving mists.

This a familiar scene to many Shanghai holiday-makers. The mountain resort of Kuling is 3,600 feet above sea level, and the'temperature seldom rises above 80 degrees.
