Goop morning all. Mr. Formby (of the "Sunday Express") has suggested I might talk to you girls about the noble art of cookery, and that suits me down to the ground, as the airman said when he strapped on his parachute.
After all, the way to a man's heart is down his gullet, as I always say, though that doesn't apply to my old man. I reckon his heart must be a bit off the Beeton track, like, cos never once have I heard him say a good word about my culinary accomplishments.
Mind you, he did once find the whippet's collar in his hol-pot, but that might happen to any one First of all, here's a recipe for lark pie which I learned from a bird fancier as used to lodge with us. It's not the only thing I learned from him, but it will do for a start. Got your paper and pencils ready? here we go:—Lark pie a la mode. Get a dozen larks from your lark-monger. Pluck, singe, and shampoo them and break up small with an axe. Stick em in a dish, cover em with fat bacon and mixed herbs. Make a good strong top crust, egg it over and bake. When sufficiently done remove the crust, take up the bacon, pour in half a pint of rum, replace crust, simmer in Oven, go out and have a quick one and you'll be back just in time to meet it coming down the garden path.

Every week I will award the wigginthorpe raspberry tart to the sender of the best household hint. This week's Raspberry Tart goes to Mrs, Ada Slagworthy, of Love-lane, Runcorn, who has invented a gentleman's shirt front constructed on the roller towel principle.
This ingenious device enables the shirt front to be rotated after supper, leaving a clean surface for the next meal. A great boon to the splashy type of eater we girls know so well
