The military authorities have lately been erecting quite a number of barbed wire fences in different parts of the city, similar to those which were erected some years ago to keep out bandits, At the same time the strictest warnings have been issued that the public should not.go near these fences, but nevertheless, several unfortunate people have done so, not being aware of the seriousness of the offence, and have consequently been arrested and taken to the police stations to be questioned.
