Several Communists, mostly Polish Jews, were expelled from this city taken into preventive custody in the last few days to prevent further aggravation of the situation by irresponsible agitation of Communist agents, Arab and Jewish opposition to the partition of Palestine is increasing daily and ' protest meetings by Arabs as well as Jews are being held throughout the country. The Grand Muft's appeal for the maintenance and strengthening of a solid Arab bloc has been announced by loudspeakers in all Arab villages.—Trans-Ocean.
