Henry Morgenthau, Junr. said today that the United States was not in touch with the Nethelands regarding reports of attempts to.tie the guilder io the dollar. He admitted, however, that conversations concerning the Tri-Partite Monetary Agreement, to which the. Netherlands had adhered, were taking place.
Mr, Morgenthau reported today that the Chinese monetary negotiations with the Chinese financial mission headed by Mr. K. P. Chen were progressing favourably but were necessarily slow because of the slow transmission of communications to China. He indicated that everything was proceeding in a routine manner.—United Press.
