Abominable Spawn

The last picture pleased me the more as I used to know "the Head" well many years ago and had heard a report that it was to be corrupted with bungalows. Evidently this was untrue, There are signs that seaside authorities are beginning to revolt against this abominable spawn. The Chichester Rural District Council has given notice that Selsey has to be cleared of old railway carriages and other hutments with which most of it now is covered. Besides being hideous, they are badly lacking in proper sanitation. Altogether about 1,000 dwellings/ are to be cleared away. Of course the landlords cry aloud to high heaven. One of them is quoted as saying that he has spent £2,000 in "developing" his ground and has got back practically nothing. Credat Judaeus. I know of a farmer near New Milton who draws a steady £500 a year in ground rents of bungalows from a five acre field and he certainly never spent £2,000 or anything like it on. his land.
