Nazi reprisals against the Catholic church as Herr Joseph Buerckel predicted in his speech yesterday, has apparently begun despite police and Brownshirt guards stationed at strategic points. 2 Several churches, monasteries and parsonages were stoned today and many windows broken.
At an unguarded synagogue and Jewish bath, windows were broken. Two Czech consumers' ce-operative stores were broken into and stock attered. Several other stores had zach" smeared on them in read paint.
Herr Paul Joseph Goebbels, Reich Propaganda Minister, arrived here today ostensibly to canvass public opinion on the Nazi-Catholic question.
Political quarters also predicted that all Jews of Czech nationality would be expelled from Vienna—
