Spy Trial Testimony Refuted in Berlin

No Incorrect Treatment Of Mail Allowed

Berlin, Oct, 26.

German circles energetically refute the charge raised in the United States in connection with the espionage trial that unauthorised persons had had access to the mail-bags on board the North German Lloyd vessel Europa.

The post ofüce aboard the Europa—it is stated—is occupied by three American and three German postal officials and neither the German Post Office nor the North German Lloyd are aware of any robbery or even incorrect treatment of postal matters transported by the Europa. Furthermore, there has been no communication of such an occurrence from any American authority.—Trans-Ocean.
