London, Oct. 25.
The settlement of 5,000,000 Jews in Palestine to aid in the defence of British interests, was proposed today by Commander—Locker-Lampson, Conservative M.P. for Handsworth, Birmingham, in an address before a meeting of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain.
He said that such a project should be taken in case a "certain Power" should go across Rumania to snatch British oil interests in that country and also in case of attempts in the direction of the Suez Canal.
"We have discovered a secret document wherein it is provided that the Suez Canal should be shared by Mussolini and Hitler," he declared.
Cmdr. Lampson was later questioned by newspapermen and he affirmed that his knowledge about the existence of such a document was based upon information "from an authoritative source excluding all doubt of its authenticity."
"I understand that there are typed documents distributed among the young Arabs all over the East. They declare that in the event of a war, Germany and Italy would take and control the Suez Canal," he added.—Havas, Semi-official quarters give much prominence in their comments to the tactics employed by the Japanese Army in its China campaign.
The military value of the Japanese forces as an efficient instrument of the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo triangle is also being emphasized here.
Fascist quarters eulogize Signor Benito Mussolini's policy, for Il Duce has, ever since the very beginning of the China conflict, acknowledged "the justice got Japan's claims."
It is pointed out that even then he "advised the Chinese against useless desperate resistance as wrongly recommended by interested advisers."
General opinions are that final Japanese predominance is rapidly approaching in the "utter victory of the Japanese armies."—Havas,
