"The intention is to give tħe men of the Navy the amusement already available to the Army and Air Force," Mr. A. D. Bradford, of the Royal Navy Film Corporation, said recently.
"Equipment will be installed in vessels of every. type except submarines, which have no space. The idea is to give a programme of an hour and a hay once a week at first, and eventually twice a week."
The cost will be met through the Admiralty Cinema Fund. The men of the fleet will pay for the films and half the cost of maintaining the equipment, the other half being met by the Admiralty in consideration of the fact that films are now used for training purposes.
The contribution for ordinary films will be one farthing a week for officers and men. When films of outstanding quality are shown the contribution will range from 13d a week for ratings to 2d for midshipmen and 1s 3d for flag officers.
Operators will be trained from two classes—wireless operators and torpedo men.
