Sokol Beaten by Regiment On the Race Course yesterday

Sokol fell before the onslaught of the Russian Regiment when the latter Ut the score up to 10 goals to their Opponents 2. Although in the early moments of the game the play was fairly general the Regiment had the advantage throughout by utilising to the full their combined passing movements. This is their second high-score win in succession and if they Keep up their present form they provide some interesting during the remainder of the British' Navy Trounce J.A.0, Yesterday the British Navy fielded what is probably the strongest team they have been able to get. together for a number of years. The team was drawn mostly from the HIM. Birmingham and have already made 'a name for themselves in other China Ports this season, The J.A.C. were obviously out-classed and seldom got the ball into the Navy half, losing by 14-0. In fact only on three occa~ sions did the Navy goalkeeper have to use his hands to the ball; for the remainder of the match the play alternated from the centre spot to the JLA.C. goal and the sailors made the game seem more like a goal kicking Practice than a football match.

It is hoped that this navy team will be able to be present when the Cup competitions start and that they will then meet some of Shanghai's stronger teams and so provide a dis+ play worth watching.
