This aceoinnt, written by tone of" the party, is published to-ay, the 40th anniversary, of the instlution's founding,. report of the ceremonies appearing' elsewhere: One fof the teachers has slight ly corrected the original version.

One month ago, we planned to make g trip through—Klangsu and Chekdang by bleyele. We hoped that we could travel 800. les," We had wuned for a long time,". and our teachers. encouraged us very much. Our team was composed of three Senior Int students.

We left school at 530 aim.. on April 10. The: highways were so Smooth and deserted, that we could Fide our bicycles very. comfortably and we thought we could travel about ten miles an hour. The wea ther was fine; the'sun shote brightly all day; the breeze" blew. on our smooth and straight, As time passed. 'We saw many more mountains,. We ran "through "about 30 valleys," and some roads -were bad and. india Sometimes. the. road. was, 20 steep that we had to take great care, other wise we would fall down. Fortunate-we. reached the' two caves safely.

Torches. Neceamry, We were so happy when' we reach-ea. the Kumsuntung. "We climbed {o the top of the mountain and the cave appeared: before us, 'Then took our Mashiights, which' we hat brought with us, and walked slowly down Into. the eave. Te was) very fat! tu the cave and drape of water above. We left very com: tortable when we reached the bottom andi we felt as if we lived in another world. This eave is, just ike. an old (Chinese, "palace, There ie. a, great Pall, anid the things are all shade or stone. Indeed it. is.g,.wonderful eave such as we never. saw before, 'Atier this' visit we. went to. te /shanehuantung. The roods are mich elds in yellow and green."

rained, on the next day, but we still' continued our journey, "About 22 miles from Hangchow, my bicycle unfortunately broke down. We ushed people who were driving motor cars to help, us but they refused. Then we ined that we should pull the broken bicycle by ropes and so we helped each other. Ag it) grew darker and darker, our progress became slower and it was pin, before we reached Hangchow.

The Bamboo Trait At 9 a. on April 18, we lett ngchow for Mokanshan, The coun: boa sides of the highways were othe highs were Covered. with yellow flowers and freon fide. We passed through the Enmboo Trail 1038 am, where hame 008 fill the road sides. The noise of the breeze in the trees was pleas-We] ing to our ears. This was the first time that we had enjoyed such a pleasant scene. The farther we got from Hangchow, the nearer we came to real country conditions, and the ignorance of the people increased. Ones) we stopped at x bus station and ate bread. The people saw and said, "They are eating potatoes: So we knew that their -lmowledge of "foreign customs, was very Umited, There are many mountains not far from Mokanthan, "and we travelled through many valleys, Once we smelt a Kind of fragrance the smell of American apples, but We saw no apple trees there, "At 325 "pin, we reached Mokanshan, 'Mfokanshan Ig not a very high moun tain. We could climb over it ~in four bouts and there were not many famous places for us to visit. This is only a place to visit in' summer, to avoid the hot weather.

Next day, we, reached Changling, At 720 a.m, on the 15th,-we started worse, and we drove against the wind, 50 our speed. was very slow,' about four. miles an hour. After drriving there, we went down along the stone slalrcase, reaching a very large edifice stone, Tt looks. just ike a large hall, and on one side stands a stone Jelephant and on the other, a stone Yon. This hati is called N!ale Cave. Above this, there #8 the 'Top Cave, ud under the Middle Cave there are others, one called Down Cave. and the other. Back Cave. In the 'Top Cove, many bats fly about, We-felt that we were in the sky, because the forms' and condition of this cave at Uke those of the sky, so this cave jig algo called Cloud 'Cave. In' the Down Cave, there is nothing beautlful except a waterfall, When we reached the Back Cave, "we saw a stream and two small' boats and, taking one we rowed out. Tt was #0 ick and quiet, and there was a Ute breeze, That place Is so beaut ful, but we were alittle afraid, "We visited the whole cave for about an hour.
