Cardinal Gasparri Brings — Note on Peace Moves

London, July 24.

There is reason to believe that Enrico Cardinal Gasparri, one of the Pope's trusted assistants, who left Naples last Friday for New York, is the bearer of a personal letter from Pope Pius to President Roosevelt in reply to the one His Holiness recently received from the President, the Rome correspondent of "The Times" telephoned to the home office today.

"The President's letter, it is state ed, made certain suggestions as to how peace might be maintained, and it is believed that the Pope's reply is concerned with the same project," the correspondent aáded.—Havas.
