An order issued by the Chungking Government yesterday decreed that from today onwards banknotes to the value of $10, bearing the origin mark of Tientsin, will not be cashable in Shanghai. Any person wishing to change such notes in the city will be given a bank order of the same value which may be used in Tientsin. The notes, however, will be exchanged for cash if the owner intends to remit the money to Chungking or to the interior.
