Moscow, Nov. 20.
Police today arrested a British engineer, Mr, Ryan Grower, who flew from Helsinki to Kalinine, half way between Moscow and Leningrad, to see his Russian wife who remained in this country when he left in 1934.
Mr. Grower landed unexpectedly without visa or a permit to fly over Russia. He came from Stockholm via Helsinki in a little sports plane he purchased in the former town.
Mr. Grower lived in Russia for some time several years ago and married a Russian woman. He worked in the petrol industry. In 1934, he left but recently wished to return to see his wife.
He could not obtain a visa, and so proceeded to Finland. The authori ties there suspected his true motives, end forbade him permission to leave on his proposed trip. He tricked the Finnish authorities and successfully penetrated the vigilant cordon protecting the Russian frontier.
Since his a the British authorities have been informed of the whole incident and they are now the morning.
