Nie Tze-ching, the 28-year-old accountant of a fur coat'store in Szechuen Road who was arrested by the Central Police the other day, is now behind the bars in the First Special District Court being charged with fraud, X formal hearing of the case in which)the youth is alleged to have misappropriated $5,000 will be held next week.
It was revealed in court that since tay of this year the young accountant had allegedly misappropriated from the Chen Chang Kee Fur Coat store, 465 Szechuen Road, by deducting the sums of money which he was asked to deposit with a bank. He was also alleged to have "squeezed" the money paid by customers of his store.
His manager did not know all this until very recently when the young accountant aroused his suspicions by spending lavishly. The manager investigated and after studying his auk account he discovered that a sur of $5,000 was unaccounted for. The Central Police were accordingly notified and official investigations revealed that the youth had been in love with a taxi-dancer of a cabaret in Vu Ya Ching Road for whom he bought gold bracelets and other gifts.
