Shanghai, Nov. 20.
A spirited rally towards the closing stages enabled the East Surrey Reglment to hold the Seaforth Highland ers to a one-all tic in a First Division Hockey game at the Race Course yes~ terday "afternoon. The Seaforths scored the first goal in the opening halt and they shared more play but their finishing touch was poor, "The East Surreys defended well as the backs cleared in a satisfactory manner. Cheney was the main threat on the Scottish team. He was fast and handled the stick skilfully. Several times he had the opposition eaten but due to over-cagerness he failed to drive the ball into the net more than once.
Capt. Clift again stood out for the East Surrey eleven. sisters me"Averdan, cunning: fam, Macbonalé, Davis," "Cheney, lair wright: Swanson, Campers, Wall, Giincay, Elie," Pike, iarown ENGLAND: qt. Hamlin; 3. W. Int. Martin Te Wt, Hoe. A. G. White, BJ.
