U.S. to Extend Export And Import Bank

Government Experts Now Studying Proposal

Washington, Dec. 13.

A plan to expand the Government-owned Export and Import Bank, with the object of assisting manufacturers to increase their exports to Latin America, is under consideration by Government experts.

Mr. Henry Morgenthau, Secretary of the Treasury, said yesterday that the plan had the full knowledge and approval of the State Department.

The chief problem of the plan, he continued, was how to make dollar exchange available to Latin American countries to enable them to pay for imports from the United States—Reuter.
