Officials or Messrs. Butterfield and Swire announced yesterday that there is no truth in the report that the steamship Kaying has been stopped by a Japanese vessel. The Kaying, which is carrying a cargo of rice from Saigon to Shanghai, is reported to be sheltering from a typhoon in Vungro Bay.
Several vessels of Messrs, Butter field and Swire and other companies ate expected in Shanghai in the next two weeks with rice which will relieve the local shortage.
