Italy Remains Silent M. Vladimir Potemkin, the Soviet

Ambassador to France, said Russia uld welcome a solution which provided an equitable and peaceful settlement in the Far East.

The Italian delegate said he had no contribution to make.

In adjourning the Conference until 430 p.m. the Chairman announced that the text of the declaration drafted by the American, British and French would be distributed and discussed this afternoon. Considerable opposition to it is expected to its stronger findings and it is doubtful whether a settlement can be reached to-night. The discussions will probably extend to Monday.—Reuter,
